What to share with your Aurora Maternity & Newborn photographer before the session.

As your Denver Metro Maternity, Newborn, Baby, Senior and Family Photographer, here’s something I would like to share with you: I love to hear from you! I care about what happened the night before a newborn session, how have you feeling before a maternity session and during your experience at the studio or outdoors. It all matters to me as I care about the well-being of my clients.
Did you know that most clients hold back because they don’t feel comfortable sharing emotions or health issues? When I know about something, I become more aware of what to look for and tweak during a photo experience at my studio.
When you tell me what’s really going on (what you’re nervous about, what you’re hoping for) everything gets better and we connect so much better too!
What should I share with my photographer?
Before your session: tell me more than you think you need to.
Did your baby sleep terribly last night? Tell me.
Are you feeling self-conscious about how you look right now? Tell me.
Is there something going on with your family I should know about (a toddler who’s having a rough week, a partner who hates being in photos, a grandparent who might need some gentle guidance? Tell me all of it.
None of that is too much.
It all helps me show up ready for you.
The more I know going in, the better I can take care of you, instead of just guessing what you need or suspecting something is not quite right with one or another family member during session.
One mom told me before her session she was facing a mix of postpartum depression with anxiety and dad wasn't able to sleep because of night shifts. After photographing the 3 of them as a family, I told dad he was welcome to take a nap on the comfortable sofa while mom was content to stay with me and newborn in the studio. This is also a great time for mom to vent her strong emotions to me, between each set, feedings and diaper changes during her newborn session. Knowing what the new parents were going through, was incredibly helpful, to tweak parents' participation during session and, that piece of information, changed everything! I coordinated the pace of session, built in extra feeding and cuddle breaks, and focused on creating an extra calm environment so she never felt rushed or stressed.

Photography truly is an investment that you take for life. It's not a staple item that will run out of your pantry and needs to be replenished. It is something tangible that stays!
As a photographer for over a decade, I had the opportunity to photograph hundreds of families in the Denver Metro area, also out of state and other countries. It has been, indeed, a busy life as a photographer who loves to participate in contests in hopes of new nominations, as being the recognized "employee or the boss of the month" in my own little kingdom.

I spend a lot of time working on your set, planning your session, curating all of the images for a stunning gallery. This job is truly a crafted art. If you are a crafter, you understand the value of your time, talent and skills to put it all together in seamless ways.
