Welcome to the La Dolce Vita Photography family!
I am a mom, wife, and daughter, and I have developed many helpful skills throughout my lifetime. I started my career as a second-language teacher, but life presented me with other opportunities that were worth exploring.
My passion for photography began when I was a little girl, when cameras resembled boxes and rolls of film were treasures. Even in those early days, I found joy in observing the world around me: nature, tiny insects, objects, colors, textures, and the uniqueness of human faces. This uniqueness distinguishes each person from another, with our different features, tastes, and preferences.
Every day, our eyes see thousands of random images, but how many moments or images capture our attention enough to make us stop and take notice? This realization has shown me the significance of photography and its healing power that resonates within me, resembling the little girl I once was.
I vividly remember one black-and-white poster displayed on the wall of our modest home in a town that wasn't as developed as it is today. That poster made me incredibly proud of myself. I remember the day a photographer came to our house, and I got to choose the dress I wanted to wear. The top was white, adorned with an embroidered flower on the chest, and the skirt was black-and-white plaid, featuring additional embroidered flowers. It was one of my favorite dresses! Though I didn't have a closet full of dresses, the ones I had were very special to me. I often thought, "I want to create this beautiful experience for others so that they can feel special. I want to see people's images displayed in their homes as well!"

Every day, we encounter countless images, but some have the power to stop us in our tracks—such as photos of our babies, children, family, and pets. These images evoke strong emotions and encourage us to pause.
As a photographer specializing in maternity, newborn, children's, and family photography, I have dedicated myself to honing my craft. I vividly remember the first newborn pictures I took nearly ten years ago of my own child, which marked a significant moment in our family legacy. Experiencing the miracle of life and seeing my parents hold their first grandson was incredibly emotional.
In my career, I’ve had the privilege of capturing many newborns and their unique personalities, preserving those fleeting moments for parents. I love creating various scenarios in my studio while also appreciating a minimalist approach.
Through years of dedication, I've turned my vision into reality, allowing me to serve my clients effectively. Seeing the joy on their faces when they receive beautifully framed art or albums reminds me of the importance of creating breathtaking moments. It truly is a wonderful experience.
I have developed the skills, experience, and patience necessary to ensure that your newborn, child, or family session is handled safely and positively. Our studio policy is to respect the needs and limits of our babies. We strive to interact with children and build beautiful relationships with the families who seek our services.
Our studio is fully insured and legally authorized to operate in this field. I am affiliated with the Accredited Professional Newborn Photographers International (APNPI), which ensures that I receive ongoing professional development training and stay updated on regulations and the latest trends in photography. The safety of our babies and families is always our top priority.
I recognize that newborns are more than just small children; their bodily functions are distinct from those of older children or adults. Newborns have unique metabolic and physiological needs and possess reflexes that help us understand and meet those needs.
I am delighted to work with babies and watch them grow. I love my job and look forward to capturing many more memories while building new relationships with wonderful clients over the coming years and telling their unique stories.

I invite you to join the La Dolce Vita Photography Family, where we can create beautiful and meaningful memories together!
Thank you! Obrigada! Gracias!
warmly,
- layne Fernandes
